Google's Kevin Lo talks about Google Fiber in Kansas City

At the Broadband World Forum 2011 Google's access manager Kevin Lo has given a presentation about Google's intiative to bring gigabit fiber optics in Kansas City. The video is visible here. I really like this initiative, but I do not understand all this talk about "we do not know what to do with gigabit Internet". I have more than 100 gigabytes of photos and videos on Smugmug and 800 gigabytes on Livedrive.com, I could use gigabit connectivity starting today. If I had gigabit internet I could spare some hard-drive and make a better use of online storage. I would also like to do some rendering with Amazon EC2 instead of abusing my laptop. Besides, with gigabit connectivity Kevin Lo could creat his profile on Google +, where the only Kevin Lo to be found is a Google's intern.
