Digikam menus disappear in image editor - solved

I use Digikam, a very nice Lightroom alternative for Ubuntu. In the last few weeks I experienced a tedious bug; after opening one or two photos in the image editor I could not see the editor's menu anymore. After trying many things, I uploaded Ubuntu from 11.04 to 11.10 and now everything seems to work fine. So it wasn't Digikam, it was Ubuntu. Update: It wasn't so easy. It did not work, so at the end from now I launch Digikam from terminal with this command: APPMENU_DISPLAY_BOTH=1 digikam I have read it in some forum. This way the editor does not use Unity (the common men) but starts with its own menus.
